ABOUT COMFEST

A prime example of this student-driven excellence is Comfest, the annual pan-India techno-cultural-literary festival organized by Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Kanpur. Characterised by complete student autonomy and ingenuity, the festival is managed exclusively by the Jaipuria Computer Club (JCC) with minimal faculty intervention. Comfest features a diverse array of events testing mental agility, literary finesse, technical prowess, and creative flair. Since its inception in 1999 with just nine participating schools, Comfest has grown into one of India’s largest student-run events. This overwhelming success has transformed it from a local, one-day competition into a prestigious three-day international extravaganza, attracting over 55 schools globally throughout its 27-year history.
A major highlight of Comfest is its star-studded entertainment evenings. Featuring renowned indie musicians and prominent Bollywood bands, these performances significantly enhance the festival's appeal and charisma. Furthermore, to uphold the core values of healthy competition and inclusivity, the Jaipuria Computer Club (JCC) independently shoulders the vast majority of festival expenses. By entirely waiving participation and accommodation fees for outstation schools, the club ensures maximum accessibility—a tradition they firmly intend to maintain in future editions. As the JCC celebrates its landmark 27-year milestone, the club continues to press forward with a vision to surpass all past achievements, aiming to attract esteemed global institutions and continually redefine the boundaries of success.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
“Comfest comes just once a year, to tell us time and again,
Learn to lead and lead to learn or it is a life in vain…”

The COMFEST journey began when the school was witnessing its silver jubilee celebration way back in 1998, under the leadership of five students and two teachers. A humble initiative set the ball rolling and one strong string of the Jaipurians evolved into a prodigy. 26 years down the line, the aura and ethos of COMFEST has spread beyond the boundaries of India. It is an international event now.
The 27th edition of COMFEST, to be held from 15th to 17th October, 2026, will surely be a pace higher than what it has been. Amidst modifications and innovations, sensations and transformations, let us explore the present and the future potential of Information Technology.
The details of the event are enclosed within. Kindly read them carefully before filling and sending in the forms. We look forward to your active participation and shall be obliged to have your school as our guest.

COMFEST: THE GENESIS
“25 years ago, there were six students with a vision- a dream beyond their times, and they built the foundation of the biggest techno-cultural-literary festival of all time.”
Comfest was the brainchild of 6 ace students, who did not only excel in academics but were spurred by a zealous spirit to compete, and ultimately organise a superlative competition of their own. Thus, the Jaipuria Computer Club was formed, which decided to work autonomously within the school. With the encouragement of our former principal Mr. D. Singh, the following students were the founding members of Comfest:

Aditya Tebrewal, Ayush Kohli, Sidhath G. Singh, Abhinav Jai., Devayan Mallick, Udit Gupta
.
These six students gave Comfest life and a string of aspiring Jaipurians have nurtured it into the extravaganza that it is today. Ever since its origin in 2001, the JCC has organised Comfest with the resolution to strive to create something exceptional and unique to the point that Comfest has created a niche for itself as one of the best student organized festivals in the country, and schools all over the nation look forward to attending it.

FROM THE JAIPURIA COMPUTER CLUB
Although Comfest is 27 years old, it continues to thrive on innovation, fresh perspectives, and the unshakable energy of young minds. What began as a small initiative with nine schools is now one of India’s largest student-organized festivals—and yet, every edition feels brand new. For us at the Jaipuria Computer Club, Comfest is not just a tradition; it’s a living, breathing experience that teaches us leadership, creativity, and resilience.

Each year, we pour our hearts into crafting this three-day celebration—from designing events and managing logistics to raising funds and building meaningful partnerships–we pay tribute to the spirit of collaboration, creativity and student-led excellence. COMFEST provides a platform where students become creators, problem-solvers, and storytellers. With over 35 thoughtfully curated events—ranging from debates and creative writing to coding battles, game design, theatre, entrepreneurship, and innovation challenges—there is something for every mind and every voice.

As we say here at Comfest, “You set the bar, we raise it” — together, we push boundaries, challenge limits, and create new standards of excellence. Our aim is to create a space where schools come not just to compete, but to connect, collaborate, and grow. Therefore, we sincerely hope you join us on this extraordinary journey of growth and celebration.
